Background & Overview

Elysium Healthcare is a privately-owned provider of mental health services within the UK. Conceived in December 2016, the company bought together multiple strategic sites from the portfolio of Partnerships in Care and The Priory Group when they were sold by Acadia Healthcare.

Several further acquisitions over recent years have enlarged the Elysium Healthcare group, providing an expansive portfolio across mental health care, neurological care, education, children’s services and private patient services – always delivering individualised care which is evidenced based.

Project Requirements

The continued growth of Elysium Healthcare in a relatively short time frame had brought together an increasing number of different sites, each deploying, monitoring and managing their own IT infrastructures, technologies and data.

Given the challenges of an acquisition business model, it is an arduous task even for experienced IT teams to integrate multiple sites and their associated applications and systems together.

Additionally, the model for mental health practitioners had moved away from the traditional larger hospital-type sites to smaller, more individualised community-based settings – resulting in an increased number of sites throughout the country, all requiring a consistency of IT support and service.

Elysium Healthcare were looking for a Microsoft Azure Gold partner who understood the complexities of an expanding business, ideally with experience of healthcare. They also were keen to engage with a partner who recognised the importance of placing patient care at the heart of everything – building a secure IT infrastructure with leading-edge technologies was an important aspect of this.

What Was Delivered – The Solution

As Elysium Healthcare acquired new businesses, Comtact has continued to work alongside internal teams to integrate applications, creating a common standard, while building resiliency to avoid unnecessary downtime.

  • Microsoft VDI  – during the first week of Lockdown in the UK Comtact rapidly deployed a Windows 10 and Microsoft Azure VDI solution to enable secure and fast homeworking.
  • Azure cloud transitions and enablement – In partnership with Comtact, Elysium Healthcare recently chose to migrate a number of services to Microsoft’s Azure cloud to achieve essential flexibility in a secure private cloud environment. Some of the benefits realised include added flexibility & agility, compliance with regulations, as well as improved security with the adoption of multi-factor authentication.
  • Cyber security – Comtact have assisted Elysium Healthcare various cyber security consultancy and delivery projects.
